Greatest Hair Band Songs of All-Time

Post by Casey Fisher »

I compiled a list for one of my relatives, who wanted me to send them the best “hair band” songs for them to put on their ipod. I came up with this list from Monsters of Rock & Monster Ballad type cd’s. Was wondering if anyone had any additions and/or comments on the selections… Or we can just share some of our favorite “hair band” stories, etc. I know some of these don't quite fit into the exact "Hair Band" category, but nonetheless, it is roughly the same music genre... I wanted to put on here my Top 5 songs from this list, but there are so many good ones, this could be quite difficult. I'll ponder it over. Anyways, here is the list:

Ghetto Blaster Specials (Up-Beat Songs)
Image

Cum On Feel The Noize - Quiet Riot
Once Bitten, Twice Shy - Great White
Final Countdown, The - Europe

I haven't had time to examine these playlists but I have to comment immediately on the phrase: "Ghetto Blaster Specials"

Classic Rocktober... classic.

Glad you liked that phrase Golf Coach… There was nothing better than the Ghetto Blaster on the shoulder during the 1980’s.

I want to send out a special thanks to Golf Coach for adding the awesome ghetto blaster special photo to my first post. This photo was taken at the old Warehouse Market/SuperStop parking lot in October 1985. His cassette player was cranking out some Quiet Riot at the moment this photo was taken... LOL.

I also forgot to mention that the Quiet Riot casette tape playing in the photo, was purchased at PLU Troll's old stomping grounds, "Outback Records and Tapes".

NELSON?!?!   You're kidding me right! Minus Warrent (Love the Cherry pie video, but I really don't care for the band) and Winger I love your list.
NELSON!?!?!
Anything skid row is good. And Van Halen, well, need I say more, although later in there days they grew out of the hair days. I just love (and always will) Vixen and Lita "the most awesome rock chick on the planet" Ford. Quiet Riot rocks, to bad the lead singer just died. Great White Rocks, to bad the guitarist died. Def Lepard Rocks, it's amazing the whole band isn't dead. White Snake, videos and songs were awesome. Great list.
By the way, I probably was working up there when you bought that tape. I started working for my dad on weekends and summers by age 12. I freakin' loved it!

LOL on Nelson Nords. They are pretty weak and very un-"hard rock" to put it nicely. I never really thought about it until you mentioned it. They would fit very nicely with New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, NSYNC, etc. on a "The Ultimate Boy Band Collection". LOL.

Well, lets put it this way, put them and Sabastion Bach from skid row in the same room, who do you think is going to get their ***es kicked. LOL that would even be with the both of them against him. Only one long blond would exit to sing again!

Nords, we should start a thread titled, "The Whimpyest Bands of All-Time". Nelson would definitely be in the Top 10. By the way, I officially removed them from the initial list and I added a poll question in their honor...

I love the poll Rock. My answer had the following criteria attached.

Would I attend a Nelson concert if it was free?

In the late 80s/Early 90s: YES

Today: NO
