Ken, I was at the game. Washington State's team defense is absolutely superb... Derek Lowe is just as quick as Pargo. Kyle Weaver completely shut Bouldin out (0 points). Overall, it was a great game and a very great atmosphere. The Zags have nothing to hold their heads down about. They lost to a better team, didn't play very well, and yet still had a chance at the very end. Like you said, when Heytvelt comes back it will be a different story. They need a post who can score with his back to the basket and someone to rely on in cruch time...

Casey,

THats what i read online was that it was a good game and the Zags didnt play very well, but were still in the game. THe only thing i dont like about Wazzu is the slow down style of ball. I do like them, but sometimes i like some scoring, but watching ball hawking defense is fun to watch. My high school coach preached and preached defense and we didnt give up a lot of points when i played. I think if the Zags and Wazzu played again when Heytfelt is in the line-up, it would be a different story. That hurt the Zags when Bouldin didnt score. they need him to score some points.

Gonzaga really played poorly. Wazzu's defense had a lot to do with that. Wazzu just plays an ugly brand of basketball. Hard to watch sometimes. Someone needs to tell Austin Daye that freshman aren't allowed to take shot after shot down the stretch! I couldn't believe the shots he just kept jacking up and missing. I think we win that game if we let pargo or downs take those shots instead. Surprisingly I would have though pargo and Bouldin would have been the ones to stand up to the the physical play the best, but they looked as bad as everyone else.
