Today's video is another that might suprise some of my loyal fans. This hunting season, Matt Williams and I are driving in my pickup and my XM radio beeps at me. I reach down and change the channel. Matt says, "What did you do?". I say, " I turned the channel. Gerry Rafferty is on the 70's channel." He says, "How did you know?". I say, "I have my radio programmed to tell me when Gerry Rafferty is on." He says, "You gotta be the only person in the world that would program their radio to tell them when Gerry Rafferty was on!" I love Gerry Rafferty.

So you don't think I am getting too soft. Here is the Foo Fighters with a cover. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axdBNCov ... re=related

Thanks Mike. That is one good tune.
It's Friday. Time to rock us into the weekend. I was suprised to find this video actually on youtube. What can I say? This song's chorus will stick in your head for the rest of the day.

The only way that song gets better is if Maynard Ferguson is ripping off sweet licks in the stratosphere in place of the sax.Mike Nordin wrote:C'mon, I love that song. The sax is awesome!!! I mean, it could have been worse, you know, if they would have used a trumpet or something.
Seriously, I love the song and I really like F.F. version and vid.
Good Pick!

One of my favorite bands from the last few years. They have been around a while and have quite a bit of success. I think of them as a modern day Rush.

I like LOTS of musical styles, but this one does nothing for me, really. I have a hard time classifying this as music.Hank Rauenhorst wrote:Matt Morgan wrote:I am not that technologically advanced as to attach a link, but if anybody wants to see an incredible live performance, watch Slipknot play "Heretic Anthem" live. Open your mind maaaaaan. If you gave Slipknot a good listen. You would be VERY impressed. Percussion section has all kinds of cool stuff going on.Simon Miller wrote: I have a hard time classifying this as music.
Anyhoo. Here I am picking another song that is newer than 20 years old. I'm sorry. I promise I will get back to my old stuff soon. I picked this song because it has been playing in my head all day. I am indifferent to this band but this song is so freaking intense.
Breaking Benjamin - So Cold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV6xBQDCTzg
For the darker souls browsing these pages, I found some of the funniest stuff I have heard in a long time. These dudes made a musical of Silence of the Lambs. I downloaded the songs and put them on my MP3 player. I can't believe some of this stuff! I also found a version of 'Down in a Hole' by Alice in Chains. But the guy sounds just like Buffalo Bill and rewrote the song as him. I won't post the links on this family establishment. PM me and I can get you the links.

Coheed and Cambria is really good. Thats what i miss about my Sirius, i can keep up with all the new music, especially when im in the truck, and of course it shows the name of the song and Band.Hank Rauenhorst wrote:One of my favorite bands from the last few years. I don't want to come across as a music snob, so perhaps my comment was a bit harsh. I will concede that these guys have some definite talent and skill, but I will just leave it at that. As far as the percussion section etc, I will just take your word for it.
