1966 NCAA National Champ coach, Don Haskins passes away

Wow, a sad day for college basketball. He is an icon for college basketball, broke the color barrier with his championship in 1966.

He will be sorely missed i am sure.

Thank you for the link. Sad day for the human race, what a coach and person the "Bear"... I lived in New Mexico for 27 years and fortunately I got to see him coach many games over the years against UNM and NMState. He was right at the top as a college coach goes and not a phony like some of the WAC coachs of that era. He sure knew how to work on the refs. He coached at UTEP for 37 years and could have went anywhere after 1966.

Excellent insignt Lauren. I had no idea he was a good coach for so long. I only knew about the '66 Title game.
