James Leslie Ackerman, 47, passed away May 10, 2011 at his home in Smelterville, Idaho. James was born July 2, 1963 in Kellogg, Idaho. James was the son of George and Liz (Handley) Ackerman.

James served in the United States Army. He had worked at Costco in California before moving back to Idaho's Silver Valley.

James loved the outdoors, including fishing and hunting.

James is survived by his mother, Liz of Pinehurst, Idaho; father George of Kellogg; one son Michael Ackerman of California; one daughter Mikala Ackerman of California; one sister Linda Cochran of Smelterville; half-sister Gayanne Windahl of Wallace, Idaho; half-brother Jesse Ackerman of Post Falls, Idaho; and various other realitives. James is also survived by his beloved dog Boo, and many other friends. James was preceded in death by one sister, Cindy Lee Ackerman in 1977.

A celebration of James's life will be held at a later date.
