Dale may not have been a KHS Grad, but he sure contributed to many of them as a teacher in KSD. He was my math and driver's education teacher when I attended KJHS. He was a great teacher.

Dale Eugene Lewis, 76, of Kellogg, passed away Oct. 1, 2009, at the family home in Kellogg. He was born Jan. 26, 1933 at Coin, Iowa; Dale was the son of Lige and Minnie (Starnes) Lewis.
Dale attended and graduated from the Braddyville High School of Braddyville, Iowa. He then attended the University of Iowa and the University of Idaho.
Dale moved to the Silver Valley in 1954 from Iowa. He married Margery Dorendorf on Sept. 21, 1957 at Kellogg.
Dale was an elementary and junior high school teacher and had worked for the Kellogg School District for 29 years. He was also owner and operator of the Shell Service Station in 1962 and Jack and Dale’s Union Service Station in 1971. Dale also owned and operated the Kellogg Car Wash.
Dale was a member of the Kellogg Elks #1841 and a member of the American Lutheran Church of Kellogg. He loved and enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, gardening and yard work, cribbage and playing games and he also loved and enjoyed his friends at the Long Shot.
He is survived by his wife — Margery Lewis of the family home of Kellogg; four daughters and their families — Tammy and Ray Eberhard of Pinehurst, Teresa and Bill Orton of Wallace, Lori Stewart of Columbus, Montana, and Wendi Lewis of Kellogg; six grandchildren — Troy Nickelby, Lindsey, Ashley and Kelsey Stewart, Eric Fields and Jaime Lewis; four sisters — Alice Rogers, Rosana Miller, Loretta Hemmert and Lois Jean Therian; he is also survived by Grandma Vi Roberts. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
Cremation was held and memorial services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m., at the American Lutheran Church of Kellogg, with Pastor Jason Bonnicksen officiating. Dale’s family realizes that Oct. 10 is opening day of hunting season; certainly if Dale would have it his way, he would rather be hunting than attending a memorial service; so if you would rather be hunting that day, please do so with the family’s blessing.
The Family suggests that memorials may be made to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835 or to the American Lutheran Church, 16 East Riverside, Kellogg, ID 83837.
