Duane E. Adams, 70, passed away Aug. 27, 2010 at his home in Kingston. Duane was born Feb. 3, 1940 in Kellogg to Dale and Helen (Morse) Adams. Duane attended and graduated from Kellogg High School in 1958. Later he proudly served in the U.S. Navy until he was honorably discharged.

Duane worked for the Clorox Company of Rogers, Ark. until his retirement in 1995. He then moved back to his hometown in Idaho. After returning to Idaho, Duane worked as a N.I.C.E. bus driver.

Duane was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, ATV riding, camping "up the river" and traveling. He was known for his gift of gab and his willingness to help others. Duane was an active member of the Pinehurst-Kingston Lions Club, serving in the past as president, as well as chairman of the concessions committee. He was also selected as Lion of the Year in 2005. Duane was a member of the Shoshone County Sportsmen Association and helped promote fishing and hunting for all Idaho sportsmen. He was also a founding director of the Shoshone County Shooting Range and helped in the development of the facility.

Duane met and married Katy Wittmuss in Long Beach, Calif. in 1961.

Duane is survived by his wife Katy of the family home in Kingston; his mother Helen Adams of Silverton; four children, including Cathy and husband Walter Seefeldt of Niagara Falls, N.Y., Cindy Robbins of Owasso, Okla., Robert Adams of Fayetteville, Ark. and Michael Adams of Fayettville, Ark. He is also survived by four siblings including Neldra Oehrling of Spokane Valley, Wash., Sandra Adams of Dover, Mass., Daryl Adams of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Kenneth Adams of Coeur d'Alene; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
