Here is the bracket for the 3A Tourney. I will also try to post updates from Middleton as I will have my PDA with me. (Jack Bower style)

Kellogg and Shelley (#2 and #1 from last year) are the only returning teams from last years state tournament. Kimberly (who ended up the season ranked #1 this year) did not make the tournament. In an odd twist of fate, Kellogg has drawn Sugar-Salem for their first game. Sugar-Salem ended up the season ranked #2, just ahead of Kellogg (#3) and Shelley (#4).
I'm grateful Simon will be there to keep us updated!

Kellogg vs. Sugar-Salem in the first round of the State Tournament... Just saying that sentence brings back some bad memories for me. This was the match-up in the first round of the boy's 1995 State Tourney in which the # 1 ranked team in the State, Kellogg Wildcats, got beat by Sugar-Salem 74-67... The girls will hopefully fare better on Thursday... Go Cats!!! The only good thing about Sugar-Salem in my book is that their pep band plays "The Notre Dame Fight Song" as I believe it is the Sugar-Salem Ore Diggers fight song..

Rock,

I too have that memory. It still hurts to this day. But I am confident that Coach Bogie and the girls will get that monkey off our backs!

Also, good call on the fight song. I remember clapping and getting jacked and Bogie saying "what are you doing?" ha ha. Cheer, Cheer for ol Notre Dame, Wake up the echoes cheering her name!

I sure hope Coach Bogey can get that redemption for the 1995 squad. My prediction is that he will. Coach Bogey was in his first year as an assistant coach on that '95 team, along with Golf Coach...

I wish I could be down there so bad. It is going to be a very exciting State Tournament this year!!! If I don't talk to you, drive safely down there Golf Coach, along with all others from Kellogg making the trip down South.

Casey--ah yes, I remember that heart-breaking day well--better than I'd like, really.

I think if the girls make it to the championship game, you should call some buddies and roadtrip it to Boise. You can sleep on my floor (Millers already have the spare beds and my couch would be too short for you! I'm not kidding, man--about the roadtrip, the couch, or the offer!)

I really appreciate the offer Laurie. That would be a lot of fun, but I won't be able to make it. I have Gonzaga vs. Memphis tickets for Saturday that I paid bick bucks for months back... I sure hope they make it to that game though...

Well, I am off to the State 3A Tourney with my wife and daughter. We are off to support the Lady Wildcats! We will be staying at Hotel de Roberts. I, being the techie that I am, will be posting as many pictures and updates as I can possibly can! I think Hotel de Roberts has broadband, so this could be good!

Go Wildcats!

Is broadband the same thing as DSL?

The house is clean (thanks to Laurie's mom), Starbucks is about two miles away, and the computer is just ready for the Miller touch. Can't wait to see Coach, Mrs. Coach, and little Coach.

Go Cats!

Sweet mother of mocha! Starbucks!

Oh yeah and DSL is indeed broadband! I think I might bring a portable WAP (wireless access point) and my laptop if that is OK with you coach. Surely you trust my technical skillz? I want to do my best to keep the KHS Grads up to speed.

Also, you get free computer care and consultation while we are there. :)

Oh my gosh! So funny. That was my first state tournament team. I can name them all--anybody else? Trivia question--which two are related to me?

Oh...I can name most of them...
Back row l to r: One of the Seviers (can't remember their first names), One of the Mareks, Ken Cleveland, Jerry Windedahl, ?, Steve Bourgard, Dean Kulju and Coach Bachman
Front row l to r: Bob Santi, Alex Flores, a manager I don't recognize, manager Steve Rinaldi, Paul Roberts and Ted? Taylor?
Related to you...#20 and #34, right?
;)

I knew you'd get the relatives, Gwen! Yep, Ted is my cousin--#34. Good job on the team, too. Did you go to Pocatello that year? I was living in Meridian that year, but we drove over. I'd completed the list below.

Thane Sevier (Wayne's youngest son), Dave Marek, Kenny Cleveland, Jerry Windedahl, Chris Blume, Steve Bourgard, Dean Kulju, Coach Dale Bachman

Bob Santi, Alex Flores, Royce or Royal Mills (maybe), Steve Rinaldi, Paul Roberts, Ted Taylor

Thanks!
I didn't go to any state tournaments in the southern or eastern parts of the state until I took my son last year. Before that, the only state tournament I attended was the (I believe) 1981 tournament in CDA/Post Falls. I did listen to a lot of the games on KWAL, though. :)
Casey, I do believe that was the 1978 team because I think Flores was a Sophomore.
*sigh* Those were the days...and the hairdos.
;)
